About The Employment Summit

1. What was the Employment Summit about?

In December, Louisiana Celebrated the national movement towards employment as the FIRST option and preferred outcome for people with disabilities. This initiative, known as “Employment First, was adopted by Louisiana’s Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. The Work Pay$ Summit provided perspectives on the national pulse regarding employment for workers with disabilities, best employment practices, Louisiana employment initiatives, building capacity among agencies, Employment First Initiative and overcoming barriers to employment.

A Special Thanks to the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) and the Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (MIG) for funding the 2011 Employment Summit.
